About this game
Core Search Mechanics
Players move through a fully realized three-dimensional house, navigating from the lowest basement to the highest attic. The objective is straightforward: locate a character who is hiding somewhere within the environment. Controls are adapted for both keyboard and touch inputs, making the game accessible on computers, phones, and tablets. A single button press activates a character-specific tool that briefly stops the hiding character, giving the player a chance to succeed.
Character Selection & Tools
Before starting, players choose from three distinct characters. Each character carries a different tool that affects how the search unfolds. One tool might create a short-range pulse to reveal nearby hiding spots, while another could emit a sound that draws the hidden character out of cover. This variety encourages replay, as each tool changes the optimal search strategy. The choice of character influences how quickly a player can narrow down the hiding location.
Progression Across Five Nights
The game is structured around five separate nights, each representing a new level. As the nights progress, the hiding character becomes more clever, choosing less obvious spots and moving more frequently. Early nights serve as a gentle introduction to the house layout and tool usage, while later nights demand faster reactions and a more systematic search pattern. This gradual difficulty curve keeps the experience engaging without becoming frustrating.
Environment & Hiding Spots
The house is filled with numerous rooms, each furnished with objects like cabinets, curtains, and tables. The hiding character can tuck away behind or inside these items. Players must check every corner, including areas that are easy to overlook, such as under beds or inside closets. The detailed environment rewards thoroughness, and the same house layout across all nights allows players to learn the best routes over time.
Observation & Audio Cues
Success depends on sharp observation. The game provides subtle audio hints, such as a soft footstep or a creaking floorboard, that can indicate the hidden character's general direction. Listening carefully while moving through quiet rooms gives an advantage. Visual details, like a slightly open door or a displaced rug, also offer clues. These elements train players to pay attention to their surroundings rather than relying on luck.
